J.W. Bastian Contracting is family-run business based out of Russell, ON but primarily cut grass for the City of Ottawa (in Orleans/Greenboro/Park & Rides).
Our roster is almost full! We are currently seeking only six (6) more hardworking, friendly and punctual staff to join our team supporting the City of Ottawa maintenance divisions for a two month contract (September 4 - October 31, 2023).
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the City of Ottawa's public parks and greenbelt are maintained to the highest standards. This is a full-time, seasonal contract with competitive pay and a great work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Maintaining public parks and spaces for the City of Ottawa;
• Operate lawn mowers, trimmers and other equipment to cut and trim grass;
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed;
• Communicate with City staff to ensure their satisfaction with the work performed
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment; and
• Work collaboratively with other team members to complete tasks efficiently
Qualifications:
• Must have transportation to get to and from worksites;
• Must be hardworking and punctual;
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions;
• Must be able to operate lawn mowers, trimmers and other equipment;
• Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and team members;
• Must be able to follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment;
• First Aid Certificate (asset)
• WHMIS Certificate (asset);
• MOL: Health and Safety in Four Steps Certificate (asset)
